About British Council Namibia

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for education and cultural relations.  We connect people in Namibia with people in the UK and beyond.

The British Council has been in Namibia since 1992.  We operate from our office in Windhoek, where we continue to engage in cultural relations work, building links between citizens of the United Kingdom and Namibia.

Our activities are delivered through our English and education business units as well as an exams unit, providing opportunities for thousands of Namibians to acquire globally recognised qualifications.

The British Council's education work addresses inequality and poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa by sharing access to international best practice, knowledge and innovation, and by providing access to skills and professional development. Find out more about our work in education.

The British Council administers numerous exams on behalf of various UK academic and professional institutions including IELTS, ACCA, CIMA and many universities.  Find out more about our exams.

We can help you learn and practise English with our range of online resources and learning tools. All our resources have been carefully designed to deliver effective and practical learning experiences.  Find out more about our LearnEnglish resources.
